From reading the article I saw that retail therapy during the Victorian era was used pretty much as a hobby for the wealthy housewives to do during the day. The women used that time to hang with their friends and buy the many things that they wanted. What I have noticed is that the sayings about customers are always right and the sale person has to do everything in their power to make the customer happy is something that is still being said and done in the retail industry today. Not only that, women of all class uses retail as a way to relax and find time to hang with friends and use it as a way to pass time or to just be relaxing.
